The Ones That Got Away...IMG_001

Ever wonder what happens to those photos that don't make it to the blogposts, portfolios, or any other form of finished product?  It's typical for me to shoot an estimate of 2000 images during a wedding but only produce about 500 images to the client.  That means that the rest of those photos, RAW may I add, are neatly stored away taking space on my hard drive.
Darren kindly suggested that I "get rid" of all the images that "didn't make the cut".  This made me a little sad because while I am not a pack-rat, a photo is still an photo to me.  A moment in time that was captured and that photo is the only way to get a glimpse of what 6:30 in the afternoon-on main street-two weeks ago-looked like.  I find value in this.  Get my drift?
So...I decided to start a series while I do some spring cleaning of my many files of raw images.  A series of The Ones That Got Away, and I'll show you some that are dear to my heart, even if I was just testing the lighting. So consider this an "Oops"-a la mode series :)

I hope you enjoy this.  My goal is to do this once a week so stay tuned :)

Today's episode comes to you from a Senior Portrait Session I did in Lodi, CA about two weeks ago.
